Traditional Scottish Shortbread Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Sift flour and salt together, then gradually mix into butter mixture until just combined.
